Create This Inexpensive DIY Summer Water Paradise for Kids in Less Than 30 Minutes!

Pools are great in the summer but let’s face it, kids love to jump around and have fun. Trampolines are great too but it can be dangerous for little tykes so what’s a parent to do?

Water blobs are a hit with kids and they cost nearly nothing to make and take only about 30 minutes to build. Homemade Toast has created an awesome tutorial for creating one that doesn’t require tape and is leak proof.

Before you start, here are the supplies you’ll need:

  • Painter’s plastic, 4 mils, 10×25 foot roll which has been cut down to about 10×20 feet.
  • Parchment paper
  • Ironing board and iron
  • Duct tape – for sealing the hole for the hose when filling.

You’ll start out with a long piece of parchment paper.

Fold it in half, length-wise and draw a line about 2-inches out from the fold.

Open up your parchment and place your plastic inside, aligning it to the fold of the parchment.

Then, fold the parchment back over.

Now, use your hot iron to slowly melt the plastic together by running the iron across the line of your parchment.

Continue to seal all of the edges, overlapping a few inches to make sure there are no holes.

Now, carefully cut a small slit in the folded end of the plastic, near the corner.

Place the hose in a few feet, and prop the corner up so that the water does not spill out while you fill your water blob.

Seal off the hole with a piece of duct tape or use your iron and parchment to melt the edge!
