Adorable Baby Koala Hugs His Mom During Her Life-Saving Surgery

A baby koala, or joey, has a strong bond with their mother and this bond can last as much as 18 months until the joey has matured. When a 6-month-old joey saw his mother hit by a car with his own eyes, it surely must have left him shock.

But, to show his strength and help his mom recover, he hugged her tightly during the entire operation where she needed surgery for a collapsed lung and minor facial trauma. Because of his love and the medical experts at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, she is supposed to make a full recovery and this little fella will be able to get back to the wild with his mom.

This 6-month-old koala named Phantom saw his mom Lizzy get hit by a car.
