The only thing I had for breakfast every morning when going to school was toasts with peanut butter and jam. Even when I think back to moments from high school, waking up to a breakfast of peanut butter and jam toasts was the best. Even today, I can’t resist a peanut butter and jam sandwich; however, there are some other uses for peanut butter that are pretty surprising.

Not only is it tasty and delicious, it’s helpful with so many other things. Here are just 12 other uses for peanut butter that you probably didn’t know about!

1) Use peanut butter to remove minor scratches on wood or leather.

Simply smear a thin layer of peanut butter in a circular motion over the scratch. For leather, rub it in until the scratches are gone and for wooden scratches, let it soak in for about an hour then buff out with a cloth.

2) Use peanut butter to fix that squeaky door.

If you’re out of your regular lubricant like WD-40, use a small dab of peanut butter instead to lubricate any squeaky hinges.

3) Use peanut butter to help remove sticker residue.

No matter how careful we are when removing price stickers or any stickers for that matter, there always seems to be sticky residue leftover. Rub in a little peanut butter and remove it with a cloth. If you have a stubborn sticker, let the peanut butter soak in a bit before removing with a cloth.

4) Removing gum from hair, clothes, or carpets.

If you have kids, it may happen to find gum stuck somewhere so use peanut butter to help get it out! Rub a dab of peanut butter on the gum, let it soak for 10-15 minutes, and wipe it off with a cloth.

5) Use peanut butter as a deep conditioner.

You can use peanut butter alone or mix it with olive oil for a thinner consistency and get the benefits of both peanut AND olive oil. Wash it off and look forward to soft and manageable hair.

Having to swallow a pill can be difficult for children. 9) Catch unwanted house guests with peanut butter.

Mice may like cheese but did you know they like peanut butter too. Use it instead and the scent will lure them to your mouse or live catch trap.

10) Use peanut butter to cover up offensive odors.

If something left your house smelling raunchy, quickly get rid of the odor by putting a tablespoon of peanut and a small amount of water in a frying pan. Let it boil for a few minutes and your house will smell amazing again.

11) Use a half-empty jar of peanut butter to catch insects.
