Unfortunately, some animals don’t get a lucky start on life and this was the case for a Great Dane named Pegasus. She was part of a litter of puppies bred from an inexperienced backyard breeder and nearly all of them died.
When South African director and filmmaker Dave Meinert rescued her as a 4-week-old puppy, he didn’t know how long she would live because of the numerous health complications she already had. He wanted to preserve every special day and decided to document her growth with a time-lapse video over a period of 5 months.
Pegasus, a Great Dane puppy was born to a backyard breeder where most of the litter died.
South African director and filmmaker Dave Meinert rescued her as a 4-week-old puppy and decided to document her growth.
Over the course of 5 months, he recorded every special moment.
Through the incredible time-lapse video, we see Pegasus grow before her eyes.
Because his work involves travel, Meinert had to leave her with another family who now lovingly cares for her. She also has made a new best friend, a Great Dame named Luna and Meinert still visits with her every chance he gets.

Meinert’s video reminds us about unethical breeding and the importance of animal adoption. Without Meinert’s love and affection, Pegasus might not have grown up to be the wonderful dog she is today.
