Any Star Wars fan recalls the infamous ‘Cantina Theme’ playing as Luke and Obi-Wan Kenobi enters the elusive Mos Eisley bar on the planet Tattooine. While it’s easily played on the guitar, keyboard, or other instruments, you probably never heard it played with a pencil.
Dani Ochoa, a 19-year-old Pima Community College student from Tucson, Arizona was finishing up some math work when inspiration struck. As she started writing the math equation (x + 4), she noticed the pencil lead gliding across the paper sounded a lot like a familiar tune. As she proclaims on her YouTube page that the Cantina theme is ‘played by a pencil and a girl with too much time on her hands,’ but I personally think it’s brilliant!
Note: Don’t be afraid of turning the volume up to hear every glorious note. 🙂
