Nearly all species of sea turtles are endangered because they suffer from poaching and over-exploitation. Everything from their flesh, eggs, and even their skin and shells are sold at local markets in some parts of the world.
When a man noticed two gigantic live sea turtles being sold for meat, he bought them for $50 dollars. He then rescued the sea turtles by driving 5 kilometers up the road and releasing them back into the ocean!
“Found these at the local market got them for 50 bucks drove 5km up the road and let them go,” writes Arron Culling on Facebook.
Culling carries the sea turtle so that he can release them back to the ocean and rescue them.
Culling has rescued sea turtles many times before. He and his co-worker buy them at local markets out of his own pocket.
These rescued sea turtles are so lucky to have the opportunity of going back home. It’s all thanks to the kind heart of Culling and his co-worker.
