For any high school student, attending their high school prom is an event that should be celebrated with friends. Mary and Ben are two students that have been friends since grade school. When Ben was in the 4th grade, he told his mom that he wanted to take Mary to the prom when they graduate high school.
Mary has Down Syndrome and her friend Ben was always there to make her smile and take care of her. Ben excelled at sports and would eventually become the quarterback of his high school team in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. But even with all his success, he never forgot that little girl he grew up with and when both of them were ready to graduate, he kept his promise and asked Mary to the prom.
Ben Moser and Mary Lapkowicz have been friends since the 4th grade. Ben made a promise then to take his friend Mary to the prom when they would graduate.
They would end up going to different schools in the 6th grade and eventually grew apart. Ben would eventually become the quarterback in his high school football team and was going to play against the team at Mary’s school.
When Ben and Mary met again at a high school football game, their friendship was renewed. Ben kept his promise he made 7 years ago and asked Mary to be his date for the prom.
Mary was going to attend the prom with friends but she was so moved that her friend Ben asked her to go to prom.
Ever since they were children, Ben was always there to make Mary smile and ensure she was happy.
Even if they didn’t go to the same schools anymore, their friendship has always lasted.
What a lovely looking couple!
Her 4th-grade teacher would call her ‘Little Mary Sunshine’ because she was the sunshine in her classroom. Years later, she is still ‘Little Mary Sunshine’ and she was the sunshine at her prom.
