When This ‘Hillbilly’ Walked on Stage, the Judges Laughed. Seconds Later, Their Jaws Dropped.

Kevin Skinner perform If Tomorrow Never Comes on America's Got Talent 2009.

America’s Got Talent features countless singers, comedians, magicians, and other performers of all ages. The judges of America’s Got Talent watch hundreds of performances every season; therefore, you can imagine many performances make them roll their eyes.

When Sharon Osborne saw a young man making his way to the stage and speaking with a strong southern accent and a ‘hillbilly’ persona, she couldn’t help but laugh. Even with millions of people watching, country singer/guitarist Kevin Skinner didn’t let that deter him. A self-proclaimed ‘chicken catcher’, he taught himself how to play guitar and sing. His dream is to be a country artist like his idol, Garth Brooks.

Seconds after judge Pierce Morgan says, “let’s just see the act”, the judges were left breathless once he started singing a cover of Garth Brooks’ ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’.
