Young Girl Goes to Dentist for a Routine Cleaning but You’ll Be Shocked by What They Discovered

Imagine going to the dentist for a routine cleaning and finding out that you have a difficult health issue that needs immediate attention. For a little girl named Journee Woodard, that scenario became a reality. The quick diagnosis by her Dental Hygienist may have saved her life.

During a routine cleaning, Journee’s Dental Hygienist Rachel Stroble noticed that the white of her eyes appeared yellow. She then asked the Dentist, Dr. Michael Chandler, for his opinion and he recommended that she get it checked immediately. After visiting the doctor soon after her Dentist appointment, they discovered that she had a grapefruit-sized tumor on her liver and pancreas.

Journee Woodward went for a dental checkup and her hygienist and dentist found her teeth were sparkling white; however, her eyes were not and appeared yellowish.

They performed a “Whipple procedure” that removed a part of her liver, pancreas, stomach, gall bladder, and intestine. The grapefruit-sized tumor was sent for a biopsy but Journee Woodard was already smiling just days after the operation.
