Pokémon Go is a game that lets players explore their city, get some exercise, and meet new people; however, kids at a children’s hospital in Michigan didn’t think they’d be able to experience the game as they receive treatment.
Children at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, are getting the medical attention they need but they also are getting out of their rooms and meeting other young patients. Hospital staff has been impressed by how mobile and social the kids have become since introducing the game.
A Michigan Children’s Hospital is using Pokémon Go as a tool to get children mobile and social with other young patients.
Young patients are getting out of their rooms and socializing with other kids and hospital staff.
Unlike other video games where users sit in front of a TV, Pokémon Go is letting kids explore their hospital and surrounding.
Instead of staying in their hospital rooms all alone, kids are out of their rooms and getting active which is great for their body and their mind.
While staying at the hospital, they get a chance to meet new friends and socialize.
That smile says it all. Getting medical attention at a hospital AND having a little fun too makes it a better experience for children.
Playing the game with friends and staff lets them focus on fun and reduces any stress they have.
