People often don’t give money to the homeless because they often think they will spend it on the wrong things like drugs or alcohol. This stereotype was crushed when YouTube prankster JoshPaleyLin decided to give a homeless man $100 and follow him to determine where he spent it.
When he realized what he did with the money, he was floored and so will you. It reminds us that we often wrongfully stereotype some people and that the homeless need our help and will spend the money wisely.

The homeless man is named Thomas and he quit his job to take care of his ailing father who had cancer. After losing his father to cancer, his mother passed away only weeks later. Because of health costs related to caring for his parents and because he was unemployed, he lost his parent’s condo and found himself on the street.
Now this will really tug at your heartstrings. Josh was so moved by Thomas’ story that he started an Indiegogo campaign to help Thomas get a fresh start and help him get back on his feet. As of December 26th, 2014, the campaign has raised $103,224 and still has 27 days to go. Thomas gave up everything to care for his parents so if you can, please donate.
