We all know that life is fragile and learning to enjoy everything single day is so important. Choosing to be an organ donor is an important decision; however, learning that one person can save 8 lives sometimes makes the decision easier.
When a mother lost her son, Greg Ricks at the age of 31 in a car accident, she made the loving decision to donate his organs. Her decision has already saved the life of a heart transplant recipient. Greg Robbins had a heart attack in March 2016 at the age of 47 years old.
He quickly required quadruple bypass surgery but nearly died. He was placed on life support for many months and was placed on a transplant list in August 2016. Thanks to her generosity, Robbins received the heart transplant in September 2016.
Six months later, Greg Robbins and his wife received a letter from the donor’s mother and met her in Roanoke Rapids, NC. When she listens to her son’s heart beating again, the emotional moment was captured on video.
