Kayla Montgomery is one of the best young runners in the country but her disability doesn’t stop her. Kayla was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2010 yet this hasn’t prevented her from reaching for her dreams but instead has only made her stronger and more determined to reach her goals.
When Kayla runs, her legs become completely numb as most symptoms of MS begin when muscles warm up. Once she reaches the end of the race, she collapses into her coach’s arms and begs for ice and cold water to cool her body down. ‘Catching Kayla’ is an ESPN E:60 feature video with a remarkable story of a remarkable young woman.
It’s an incredibly emotional but highly inspirational story of courage, determination, and strength. Please share Kayla’s story with your friends and family.
