Samuel Forrest’s story of choosing his son over his marriage touched the hearts of many people around the world. Having a child is one of the greatest joys in life. Unfortunately, Samuel Forrest’s wife didn’t share the same enthusiasm for their newborn son. Forrest’s newborn son, Leo, was born on January 21st at an Armenian hospital but his doctor informed him that their new son was born with Down syndrome.
Upon hearing the news, Samuel had a moment of shock. But, it was quickly wiped away when he saw his precious son. His other moment of shock was when he entered his wife’s hospital room where she gave him an ultimatum: if he kept the baby, she would file for divorce.
Forest chose his newborn son with Down syndrome and his wife filed for divorce a week later.
As a single Dad, Forest wants to move to his native country of New Zealand. There, he will be able to take care of his son.
Because of the expenses of raising a family on his own, Forest started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help him support his son for a year.
