Artists want to express themselves freely whenever inspiration strikes them. Two art students from the Columbus College of Arts and Design definitely expressed themselves by sneaking into classrooms late Sunday or Monday evenings and would create incredible chalk art.
They are two anonymous students majoring in Advertising and Graphic Design and they go by the name ‘Dangerdust’. They don’t cheat or steal and the only thing dangerous about them is their talent for creating masterpieces out of chalk because it is incredibly inspiring and beautiful.
Every Sunday or Monday night, anonymous art duo Dangerdust work their magic.
They sneak into an empty classroom and get to work.
It can take as much as 11 hours to complete one piece but each one is incredible.
They take the time to pick out the perfect inspirational quote.
Once the perfect quote has been chosen, they begin with a rough sketch.
Then, they complete their masterpiece using only a chalk and blackboard as the canvas.
They choose quotes from people who have inspired generations.
Quotes from Nicole Jacek, Ellen Lupton, Claude Debussy, Tavi Gevinson, J.M. Barrie, Stefan Sagmeister, Jessica Hirsche, Bill Watterson, and Nelson Mandela have all been featured in their art.
Even if their works of art are temporary and eventually brushed away from the blackboard, they inspire everyone that has the pleasure of seeing them.
They prove that artists don’t need expensive supplies to create art.
They only use inexpensive chalk to create masterpieces that inspire.
Look at this beautiful piece inspired by Nelson Mandela.
Each one is painstakingly created by only two anonymous artists.
According to The Next Web, the duo known as Dangerdust have graduated from college and are now freelance artists.
They also have an Etsy shop and sell prints of works they have done.
They should be proud of the work they have done at Columbus College of Arts and Design because it has inspired thousands of people.
