Kids grow up so fast that what they wear today might not fit them a year from now. Many children from impoverished nations outgrow their shoes. Sometimes they don’t have a new pair and they end up barefoot. This increases their chances of getting injured or contracting soil-transmitted parasites.
Kenton Lee of Because International aims to change all that. His shoes can be resized easily to grow along with children’s feet for up to 5 years. The Shoe That Grows uses a system of leather straps and snaps to expand as the child grows and aims to help the over 300 million children who don’t have shoes at all.

The Shoe That Grows is the result of many prototypes that eventually provided a solution for a shoe that could last as much as 5 years.
According to their website, over 300 million children do not have shoes at all and much more do have shoes that don’t fit properly.
The shoe uses an ingenious method of using straps and snaps to allow an always perfect fit.
Thanks to the organization Because International, so many children will now have comfortable shoes for years to come.
