Having worked in media for over 10 years, I’ve seen my share of overzealous reporters grinning every time they started filing a news story that would strike tones of sadness or despair in their readers. Why? Because humans are naturally drawn to tragedies or crises, and for that reason, media outlets feed us tragic headlines in hopes of getting clicks or viewership. “If it bleeds, it leads” is the general mantra of most news organizations, unfortunately.
But, have you ever noticed at the end of a news broadcast, they always close with an uplifting story? What if the news was delivered in a way that every story was uplifting? Mauro Gatti created “The Happy Broadcast”, an Instagram account featuring anxiety-free news from around the world. Every headline is beautifully illustrated and I hope you enjoy his work and please visit his Instagram page.
